Grammar Explanation: Should～ (Indicates that something should be done based on common sense.)

Ex.: ルールは守まもるべきです。

Rm.: Ruuru wa mamoru beki desu.
En.: You should follow the rules.

Ex.: 間ま違ちがったら、謝あやまるべきです。

Rm.: Machigattara, ayamaru beki desu.
En.: If you make a mistake, you should apologize.

Ex.: もっと野や菜さいを食たべるべきです。

Rm.: Motto yasai o taberu beki desu.
En.: You should eat more vegetables.

Ex.: 一いっ生しょう懸けん命めい勉べん強きょうするべきです。

Rm.: Isshoukenmei benkyou suru beki desu.
En.: You should study hard.

三類動詞「します」は「するべき」または「すべき」に変えることができ、両方の意味は同じです。

The Group 3 verb “します” can be changed to “するべき” or “すべき”; both forms have the same meaning.

Ex.: 一いっ生しょう懸けん命めい勉べん強きょうすべきです。

Rm.: Isshoukenmei benkyou subeki desu.
En.: You should study hard.

Rm.: Kokorozashi wa takaku aru beki desu.
En.: You should have high aspirations.

Ex.: 人ひとには優やさしくあるべきです。

Rm.: Hito ni wa yasashiku aru beki desu.
En.: You should be kind to others.

Ex.: 人じん生せいは楽たのしくあるべきです。

Rm.: Jinsei wa tanoshiku aru beki desu.

Ex.: 人にん間げんは自し然ぜんに対たいしてもっと謙けん虚きょであるべきです。

Rm.: Ningen wa shizen ni taishite motto kenkyo de aru beki desu.
En.: Humans should be more humble toward nature.

Ex.: 裁さい判ばん官かんは公こう平へいであるべきです。
Rm.: Saibankan wa kohei de aru beki desu.
En.: Judges should be fair.

Ex.: 人ひとは正しょう直じきであるべきです。

Grammar Explanation: Should～ (Indicates that someone or something should have a certain identity, role, or state based on common sense.)

Ex.: リーダーはみんなの模も範はんであるべきです。

Rm.: Riidaa wa minna no mohan de aru beki desu.
En.: Leaders should be a role model for everyone.

Ex.: 親おやは子こ供どものよき理り解かい者しゃであるべきです。

Rm.: Oya wa kodomo no yoki rikaisha de aru beki desu.
En.: Parents should be understanding and supportive of their children.

Ex.: 夫ふう婦ふは対たい等とうな関かん係けいであるべきです。

Rm.: Fuufu wa taido na kankei de aru beki desu.
