How to Turn I-Adjectives into Nouns

大おおきい (Big / Large) → 大おおきさ (Size)

Ex.: この箱はこの大おおきさがわかりますか。

Rm.: Kono hako no ookisa ga wakarimasu ka.
En.: Can you tell how big this box is?

明あかるい (Bright) → 明あかるさ (Brightness)

Ex.: パソコン画が面めんの明あかるさを調ちょう整せいしています。

Rm.: Pasokon gamen no akarusa o chousei shiteimasu.
En.: I’m adjusting my screen brightness.

きれいな (Beautiful / Clean) → きれいさ (Beauty / Cleanliness)

Ex.: この湖みずうみの水みずのきれいさは有ゆう名めいです。

Rm.: Kono mizuumi no mizu no kireisa wa yuumei desu.
En.: The lake is famous for its crystal-clear water.

馬ば鹿かな (Stupid / Foolish) → 馬ば鹿かさ (Stupidity / Foolishness)

Ex.: 自じ分ぶんの馬ば鹿かさに呆あきれました。

Rm.: Jibun no bakasa ni akiremashita.
En.: I’m disappointed in myself for being so stupid.
