継続動詞(Continuous Verbs)

継けい続ぞく動どう詞し:継けい続ぞくして行おこなわれる「動どう作さ・行こう為い」を表あらします。

Continuous Verbs: It indicates an action or activity that is ongoing.

Ex.: 食たべます (eat), 飲のみます (drink), 書かきます (write), 読よみます (read), 買かいます (buy), 話はなします (speak), etc.

Sentence Pattern: Continuous Verb (Te-form) + てteいiまmaすsu

Grammar Explanation: Indicates an action in progress (be + verb-ing)

瞬間動詞(Instantaneous Verbs)

瞬しゅん間かん動どう詞し:瞬しゅん間かんで完かん了りょうしてしまう「動どう作さ・作さ用よう」を表あらします。

Instantaneous Verbs: It expresses an action or event that is completed instantly.

Ex.: 点つけます (turn on), 消けします (turn off), 座すわります (sit down), 結けっ婚こんします (get married), 住すみます (live), 着きます (wear), etc.

Sentence Pattern: Instantaneous Verb (Te-form) + てteいiまmaすsu

Grammar Explanation: Indicates a resulting state that continues (a completed action with ongoing result)

「瞬しゅん間かん動どう詞しのている形かたち+名めい詞し」と「瞬しゅん間かん動どう詞しのた形けい+名めい詞し」は、どちらも動どう作さ・作さ用ようが完かん了りょうした結けっ果かの状じょう態たいを表あらわすため、同おなじ意い味みになります。

Both the “Instantaneous verb (te-iru form) + noun” and the “Instantaneous verb (ta-form) + noun” express the resulting state of a completed action, so they have the same meaning.

「継けい続ぞく動どう詞しのている形けい+名めい詞し」は動どう作さの進しん行こう中ちゅうを表あらわし、「継けい続ぞく動どう詞しのた形けい+名めい詞し」は動どう作さの完かん了りょうを表あらわすため、同おなじ意い味みにはなりません。

“Continuous verb (te-iru form) + noun” indicates an ongoing action, while “continuous verb (ta form) + noun” indicates a completed action; therefore, they do not have the same meaning.

状態動詞(Stative Verbs)

状じょう態たい動どう詞し:すでに状じょう態たいを表あらわしているため、「~ている」の形かたちにできない動どう詞しです。

Instantaneous Verbs: These are verbs that cannot take the“~てteいiるru”form because they already express a state.

Ex.: あります (to exist for plants and things), います (to exist for animals and humans), できます (can do), 値あたいします (to be worth), etc.

テーブルの上うえに林檎りんごがあります木きの上うえに鳥とりがいます彼かれは英えい語ごができます

第4の動詞(Type 4 Verbs)

第4の動詞:常つねに「~ています」の形かたちで用もちいられる動どう詞しです。

Type 4 Verbs: These verbs are always used in the“~てteいiるru”form.

Ex.: 聳そびえています (be towering), 優すぐれています (be excellent), 似にています (resemble), 尖とがっています (be sharp), etc.

山やまが聳そびえていますこのCPUはとても優すぐれていますこの錐きりはとても尖とがっています
