Sentence Pattern: Plain form + し、Plain form + し、それに~です

Sentence Pattern: Plain form + shi、Plain form + shisorenidesu

Grammar Explanation: A, B, and also C (Parallel listing)

Ex.: かれは、やさしいし、あたまもいいし、それにとてもかっこいいです。

Bm.: Kare wa, yasashii shi, atama mo ii shi, sore ni totemo kakkoii desu.

En.: He is kind, smart, and very handsome.

Ex.: ちょうは、のうりょくひくいし、わるだし、それにとてもケチです。

Bm.: Bucho wa, noryoku mo hikui shi, ijiwaru da shi, sore ni, totemo kechi desu.

En.: The manager is incompetent, mean, and very stingy.

Sentence Pattern: Plain form + し、Plain form + し、~です

Sentence Pattern: Plain form + shi、Plain form + shi、~desu

Grammar Explanation: A and B, so C (Reason / Cause)

Ex.: このレストランは、やすいし、おいしいし、とてもにんがあります。

Bm.: Kono resutoran wa, yasui shi, oishii shi, totemo ninki ga arimasu.

En.: This restaurant is cheap and delicious, so it’s very popular.

Ex.: かのじょは、わがままだし、わるだし、みんなにきらわれています。

Bm.: Kanojo wa, wagamama da shi, ijiwaru da shi, minna ni kirawarete imasu.

En.: She is selfish and mean, so everyone dislikes her.

Sentence Pattern: どうして + Plain Form + んですか

Sentence Pattern: Plain Form + し、それに + Plain Form + ですから

Sentence Pattern: doushite + Plain Form + ndesuka

Grammar Explanation: Why~?

Sentence Pattern: Plain Form + shisoreni + Plain Form + desukara

Grammar Explanation: Because / Since A, and also B

Ex.: どうしてごとめたんですか。

Bm.: Doshite shigoto o yameta n desu ka.

En.: Why did you quit your job?

Ex.: きゅうりょうやすいし、それにごともつまらなかったですから。

Bm.: Kyuryo mo yasui shi, sore ni shigoto mo tsumaranakatta desu kara.

En.: Because the pay was low, and the job was boring.
