Interviewee: Nice to meet you. Thank you for having me.

面接官

Interviewer: You speak Japanese very well.

面接者

いえ、まだまだです。現げん在ざいも勉べん強きょう中ちゅうです。

Interviewee: Oh, not really. I’m still learning.

面接官

どのくらい勉べん強きょうしているんですか。

Interviewer: How long have you been studying?

面接者

1いち年ねんぐらいです。

Interviewee: About a year.

日に本ほん語ごが流りゅう暢ちょうでない場ば合あいは、勉べん強きょう期き間かんは短みじかめに回かい答とうしたほうがBetterです。

If your Japanese isn’t fluent yet, it’s better to mention a shorter study period when asked.
勉べん強きょう期き間かんが長ながくて流りゅう暢ちょうでない場ば合あい「語ご学がくのセンスがない」と判はん断だんされる可か能のう性せいがあります。

Saying you’ve studied for a long time but still aren’t fluent might make the interviewer doubt your language ability.

質しつ問もん1：自じ己こ紹しょう介かい（Q1: Self-Introduction）

論ろん理り的てき・簡かん潔けつ・丁てい寧ねいに！時じ間かんは30秒びょう～2分ふん以い内ない

Be clear, brief, and polite! Keep it 30 seconds to 2 minutes.

面接官

簡かん単たんに自じ己こ紹しょう介かいしていただけますか。

Interviewer: Please introduce yourself.

①氏し名めい。

②今いままでの経けい験けん・スキル。

②Past experience and skills.

③応おう募ぼした仕し事ごとに活いかせる経けい験けんや実じっ績せき。

Experience and achievements that can be utilized in the job you are applying for.

④応おう募ぼした仕し事ごとに対たいする意い欲よく。

Motivation for the job you are applying for.

⑤即そく戦せん力りょくであることをアピール！

Emphasize that you can contribute immediately!

質しつ問もん2：転てん職しょく理り由ゆうについて（Q2: Regarding reasons for changing jobs）

面接官

なぜ前まえの会かい社しゃを辞やめたんですか。

Interviewer: Why did you leave your previous company?

①誠せい実じつに回かい答とうすること！（嘘うそはNG！）

① Answer honestly. (Avoid lying!)

②前ぜん職しょくの愚ぐ痴ちはNG！

② Avoid complaining about your previous job!

③具ぐ体たい的てき・論ろん理り的てきに話はなす！

③ Speak concretely and logically!

④ネガティブな理り由ゆうでも、結けつ論ろんは前まえ向むきに展てん開かいすること！

④Even if your reason is negative, present it in a positive way!

質しつ問もん3：志し望ぼう動どう機きについて（Q3: Regarding motivation for applying）

面接官

なぜ弊へい社しゃへ応おう募ぼされたんですか。

Interviewer: Why did you apply to our company?

①面めん接せつの前まえに、応おう募ぼ先さき企き業ぎょうについて調しらべておくこと。

① Research the company you are applying to before the interview.

②応おう募ぼ先さき企き業ぎょうの強つよみを考かんがえます。

② Think about the strengths of the company you are applying to.

③自じ分ぶん自じ身しんのキャリア（経けい験けんやスキル）が応おう募ぼ先さき企き業ぎょうの即そく戦せん力りょくになることをアピールします。

③ Emphasize how your career (experience and skills) can contribute immediately to the company!

質しつ問もん4：その他たの質しつ問もん（Q4: Other questions）

面接官

長ちょう所しょと短たん所しょ、得とく意いなことを教おしえてください。

Interviewer: Please tell us your strengths and weaknesses, and what you are good at.

回かい答とう例れい（長ちょう所しょ）：粘ねばり強づよいです。責せき任にん感かんが強つよいです。積せっ極きょく的てきです。誰だれとでも仲なか良よくできます。
Example answer (strengths): I am tenacious. I have a strong sense of responsibility. I am proactive. I can get along with anyone.

回かい答とう例れい（短たん所しょ）：せっかちなところがあるので、時じ間かんに余よ裕ゆうを持もって行こう動どうするように心こころがけています。

Example answer (weaknesses): I can be impatient, so I try to act with plenty of time.

短たん所しょを述のべたあとは、必かならず「短たん所しょの解かい決けつ法ほう」もいっしょに述のべましょう。

After stating your weaknesses, be sure to also state how you will solve them.

回かい答とう例れい（特とく技ぎ）：語ご学がく（英えい語ご：母ぼ国こく語ご、フランス語ご、日に本ほん語ご等など）、パソコン、プログラミング等など

Example answer (special skills): Languages (English: native language, French, Japanese), computers, programming, etc.

仕し事ごとに関かん係けいがない特とく技ぎは言いわないようにしましょう。

Do not mention special skills that are not related to the job.

面接官

まわりの人ひとはあなたのことをどんな人ひとだと思おもっていると思おもいますか。

Interviewer: What kind of person do you think people around you see you as?

回かい答とう例れい：以い前ぜん、大だい学がくのラボでは、積せっ極きょく的てきにみんなの面めん倒どうをみていました。機き械かいが壊こわれたりしたときは、外がい注ちゅうすると費ひ用ようがかかるので、教きょう授じゅは私わたしに修しゅう理りを頼たのみに来きました。みんなわからないことがあると私わたしのところへ聞ききにきます。みんな私わたしのことを頼たよれる人ひとだと思おもっていると思おもいます。

Example answer: In the past, I was proactive in looking after everyone in the university lab. When the machine broke, the professor came to me to ask for repairs because it would be expensive to outsource. Everyone comes to me when they don’t understand something. I think everyone thinks of me as someone they can rely on.

面接官

あなたにとって仕し事ごととは何なんですか。

Interviewer: What does work mean to you?

回かい答とう例れい：私わたしにとって仕し事ごととは生いきがいでもあり社しゃ会かい貢こう献けんの場ばでもあると考かんがえています。今いま迄まで勉べん強きょうしてきた自じ分ぶんの専せん門もんが、技ぎ術じゅつの進しん歩ぽにつながり、人ひと々びとの生せい活かつがよりよくなるお手て伝つだいができたらいいなと思おもっています。会かい社しゃと人じん類るいの発はっ展てんのために、一いっ生しょう懸けん命めい働はたらきたいと思おもっています。

Sample answer: For me, work is a purpose in life and a place to contribute to society. I hope that the specialty I have studied so far will lead to technological advances and help improve people’s lives. I want to work hard for the growth of the company and to benefit people.

質しつ問もん5：複ふく数すう面めん接せつの有う無む（Q5: Whether there were multiple interviews）

面接官

当とう社しゃ以い外がいにも面めん接せつを受うけている企き業ぎょうがありますか。

Interviewer: Are you interviewing with other companies besides ours?

回かい答とう例れい：いいえ、御おん社しゃだけです。

Sample answer: No, only your company.

回かい答とう例れい：他た社しゃも数すう社しゃ受うけておりますが、御おん社しゃへの入にゅう社しゃを強つよく希き望ぼうしております。

Sample answer: I’ve applied to a few other companies, but I really hope to join your company.

質しつ問もん6：面めん接せつ官かんへの質しつ問もん（Q6: for the interviewer）

面接官

最さい後ごに何なにか質しつ問もんがあればどうぞ。

Interviewer: If you have any final questions, please feel free to ask them.

何なにも質しつ問もんしないと、応おう募ぼ先さき会かい社しゃへの興きょう味みがないと思おもわれる場ば合あいがあります。

If you don’t ask any questions, the interviewer may think that you are not interested in the company you are applying to.

必かならず何なにか質しつ問もんしてください！質しつ問もんする内ない容ようは事じ前ぜんに準じゅん備びしておきましょう！

Be sure to ask something! Prepare your questions in advance!

また、待たい遇ぐうや福ふく利り厚こう生せいに関かんする質しつ問もんばかりしないように注ちゅう意いしましょう！

Also, be careful not to only ask questions about treatment and benefits.
