Sentence Pattern: Noun (Noun Clause) + は A ですか。（それとも）B ですか。

Sentence Pattern: Noun (Noun Clause) + はwa A でdeすsuかka。（そsoれreとtoもmo） B でdeすsuかka。

Grammar Explanation: Is it A or B?

Ex.: 彼かれは日に本ほん人じんですか。（それとも）アメリカ人じんですか。

Rm.: Kare wa Nihonjin desu ka. (Soretomo) Amerikajin desu ka.
En.: Is he Japanese or American?

Ex.: 日に本ほん人じんです。

Rm.: Nihonjin desu.
En.: Japanese.

Ex.: 彼かれは医い者しゃですか。（それとも）パイロットですか。

Rm.: Kare wa isha desu ka. (Soretomo) pairotto desu ka.
En.: Is he a doctor or a pilot?

Ex.: 医い者しゃです。

Rm.: Isha desu.
En.: A doctor.

Ex.: 犬いぬが好すきですか。（それとも）猫ねこが好すきですか。

Rm.: Inu ga suki desu ka. (Soretomo) neko ga suki desu ka.
En.: Do you like dogs or cats?

Ex.: 猫ねこが好すきです。

Rm.: Neko ga suki desu.
En.: I like cats.

Ex.: この靴くつは日に本ほん製せいですか。（それとも）ベトナム製せいですか。

Rm.: Kare no shumi wa ryori desu ka. (Soretomo) ryoko desu ka.
En.: Is his hobby cooking or traveling?

Ex.: 旅りょ行こうです。

Rm.: Kanojo ga benkyo shite iru no wa Nihongo desu ka. (Soretomo) Eigo desu ka.

Ex.: 日に本ほん語ごです。

Rm.: Nihongo desu.

Ex.: 彼かれらが読よんでいるのは小しょう説せつですか。（それとも）漫まん画がですか。

Rm.: Karera ga yonde iru no wa shosetsu desu ka. (Soretomo) manga desu ka.
En.: Are they reading a novel or a manga?

Ex.: 漫まん画がです。

Rm.: Manga desu.

「それとも（接せつ続ぞく詞し）」は省しょう略りゃくできます。

“Soretomo” (conjunction) can be omitted.

Ex.: 彼かれは日に本ほん人じんですか。アメリカ人じんですか。
Rm.: Kare wa Nihonjin desu ka. Amerikajin desu ka.
En.: Is he Japanese or American?

Ex.: 日に本ほん人じんです。
Rm.: Nihonjin desu.
